The major difference between both is

A. Ramayana: It's a book of Morals, Principals, discipline, values, renunciation, All 4 brothers have a very deep relationship with each other. Being elder Brother Rama treats equally all younger brothers. He accepted 14 years of exile so that Bharat can become king. In this, all four brothers have sacrificed their lives. After Rama went to the forest Laxmana went along with Rama, Bharat went to Nandigram for Tapasya and Shatrughan too lived his life very simple by sacrificing palace, chariot, royal robes, etc

B. Three Magical Pumpkins: It's a Story of Immoral, indiscipline, laziness, jealousy, greed, hard-working. Here only younger brother Yuva has sacrificed, He left home with his wife without any complaint at the behest of his elder brother.

The Ramayana portrays ideal characters like Ideal son, Ideal brother, Ideal wife, Ideal husband, Ideal follower, ideal villain overall ideal family. Maybe when we reinforce moral values among family members and the society was not even more corrupt. The family bond, the love between the brothers was strong, especially in Aryavarta. Family disputes for the sake of property are much less. Females didn't have much political freedom. Even after there was strong bondage between all brothers.

Whereas the beauty of Three Magical Pumpkin is that its younger brother was ideal, hardworking. Elder Brother and his wife's character depicted is grey. Three magical Pumpkin depicts about practical Nature of human beings. Women had a role in politics. Three Magical Pumpkins clearly depicted male and female psychology practically. Here, as the law of time family, bondage is less and brothers fight for the property but from elder brother side only it shows how people often changes after their marriage.

Ramayana was a conflict between two different ethnic groups whereas Three magical Pumpkin was a conflict within the family.

Ramayana deals with external enemies while Three magical Pumpkin deals with internal enemies.

In Ramayana, all four brothers were willing to give up everything for each other. There was no competition between brothers like those who have more property, who is richer. Whereas in Three Magical Pumpkins there was jealousy, hatred, greediness from the elder brother's side. The younger brother and his wife were good there was no hatred feeling were there. Whatever is received is accepted without being compliant.

Finally, Ramayana is a life story and adventures of a single person whereas Three Magical Pumpkins has different stories.

It's really difficult to differentiate between both. RAMAYANA and THREE MAGICAL PUMPKINS are two different stories through which we get lessons for life.

But one thing that makes a difference is that in the Ramayana, Prabhu Ram is the character we wish for. He is a person with all good qualities and he is the best son, husband, king, friend. But we can not be like him in this era. RAMAYANA shows us what is good and what is bad with its absolute values. It helps to understand white and black.

But Three Magical Pumpkins shows us that life is not about white and black. it shows us that there is also grey.

Younger brother Yuva shows that you have to accept life as it is and keeps working harder in order to achieve the greater good.

So in the end, Ramayana shows us that hoe high can DHARMA and humans can go and shows the ultimate upside of humans. (brother chooses brotherhood overpower)and Three Magical Pumpkins shows us the downside of humanity.

Ramayan shows the ideal of life and Three magical Pumpkins shows the importance of being practical. Ramayana Shows advantages to a family if brothers stand united against the lure of power, Three Magical Pumpkins shows destruction if brothers chose to be jealous for power, money

Ramayana is like an old masala film, where the hero does not change. Ram was the best man on earth and still is. That is the reason for calling him Maryada-Purushottam.

On the other hand, Three magical Pumpkins has better character development, story arch. The same Nanda who is Greedy, Jealous, lazy he wants everything without doing any hard work. The downfall of the Hero. But younger Brother Yuva still stays on the path of truth, hardworking, no jealousy-greed, and in the end, becomes the Heroes.

Ramayana teaches you that you should be willing to sacrifice your happiness for sake of others. Three Magical Pumpkins teaches you that you should be willing to sacrifice your ego, Greed, and Jealousy for the sake of others. In short "Love is natural, nothing can be acquired by force and greed".
